Recipe: DIY Backyard Watercolors from Stones
Kremer produces pigments from minerals, stones and earths. We also offer these stones for sale to those who want to add to their collection, or process them to make their own pigments. We manufacture pigments using a more elaborate method of grinding, sifting, and levigating. However, some of our customers have shown us examples of homemade pigments and paint from rocks they found! We collected some beautiful rocks (second photo) and made watercolors from them. See the results and instructions below...

Not every natural material is harmless. This includes mineral pigments and earth colors, which may contain hazardous components. When working with fine mineral dusts, we do recommend to use a respirator or dust mask. Particular caution is recommended when working with fine quartz particles, needle-like, fibrous or toxic minerals.
